Diane Ellis-Busby has been named Senior Scientist at ECI Biotech, a Worcester-based company specializing in research and development of new protein technologies, it was announced today.
“We are very fortunate to have Diane Ellis-Busby join us at ECI,” said Dr. Mitchell Sanders, president of ECI Biotech. “Diane has an exceptionally strong background in biochemistry and protein sensor development. She will be leading our efforts here in the research and development of new sensor technologies.”
Dr. Ellis-Busby comes to ECI Biotech from Sensera, Inc., as a Senior Scientist she was engaged in the development of sensor platforms for air and water monitoring of chemical and biological warfare agents. She was jointly employed at Triton Biosystems Inc., where she was involved in the development of a tumoricidial therapeutic platform for cancer treatment.
A Summa Cum Laude graduate of Bates College, Dr. Ellis-Busby received both an M.A. and a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Harvard University. She also completed postdoctoral training in tissue engineering at M.I.T.
Dr. Ellis-Busby is a resident of Lancaster, Massachusetts. She has published several papers in professional journals on a variety of topics related to protein sensor technology and tissue synthesis. At present, she has three pending patent applications.
